“Over his long tenure in the company, he made many significant contributions, including being part of the efforts to take TCS public in its IPO in 2004, opening up new markets, and mentoring a new generation of TCSers,” the post added.
Vandrevala joined the Mumbai-based Tata group firm in 1982 and was key part of the leadership team over the decades, including as an ED between 2007-2016. He also was the global head of global corporate affairs at TCS.
At the firm, Vandrevala also had a stint as vice-chairman and MD of its UK-based subsidiary Diligenta and led TCS’ life insurance and pensions industry business.
A qualified Chartered Accountant, he was part of expert committees constituted by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) as part of the policy-making efforts as well as IT advisory bodies and on the board of several prominent educational institutions.

The IT sector veteran also served on several industry bodies including as chairman of Nasscom, co-chair of the Indo-British Partnership, and represented the industry and country in other important global forums.During his working life, Vandrevala also served as independent director on the boards of companies including Punj Lloyd and Jubilant FoodWorks.
